Thank you to all who participated!
Fantastic three days coaching lots of lovely riders and their horses on my polework and jumping clinic at Hole House Farm, Greenfield.
All riders had different aims and intentions. However, all partnerships improved and it was so lovely to see everyone enjoying their horses and ponies!
Friday was a busy day with schools being on strike locally so a lot of riders booked in and also a busy day on the farm!
As we are a working farm I try to arrange clinics and lessons around the least activity however as my husband informs me he has no control over the grass or the weather!
The lads ended up bringing the silage into the pit which is on the bottom yard below the arena. Another tractor with a buck rake on helps the process of compressing the grass so as to make hoof silage for our cattle in winter.
Ironically not a single horse bothered about this carry on however the cat jumping on the fence or the pheasants up the field….well they’re a different matter!!
All good practice for a competition environment really!!

Saturday and Sunday were quieter on the farm and I coached people I’d not seen for a while or on new ponies/horses.
I was very impressed by how much riders had improved since I’d last seen them which is always nice when you haven’t seen them for a while!
I am particularly pleased that using my voice amplifier helped over the 3 days, especially when it was windy. Although I think some horses arriving wondered where on earth my voice was coming from!
Each of these clinics provide me with new inspiration about what works well or could have worked better in preparation for future clinics.
Allowing riders to ride and think for themselves is my greatest passion and we certainly had a few light bulb moments over the 3 days. Here’s looking forward to my next clinic and after having recently attended a day at Kelsall Hill with Ernest Dillon, Fred Hodges and a BS course builder I tried to incorporate riding in a more forward rhythm, longer distances and curved lines.

Keep a lookout on my Facebook page for future clinic dates and how to book your place.
